Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck TLILIC003


This course is for people currently employed in an industry where a forklift truck is in use including:

  • Learners interested in obtaining a High Risk Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck

  • Participants who may be operating a Forklift unlicensed

  • Updating an expired licence. 

Training process

Participants are required to undertake manual questions and activities in their own time to give a better understanding of forklift regulations and safe workplace practices.

Our SafeWork NSW High Risk Forklift Truck course and assessment is conducted on site at the employers workplace. Participants are required to complete student Training Resource Manual along with a training record log book while training under the supervision of a current licence holder. 

A qualified trainer (appointed by the RTO) will be assigned to complete final training where student/s must complete a formative assessment as evidence prior to undertaking formal training for a final SafeWork NSW Licence Assessment.

Student/s are also required to compete practical sessions and demonstrate:

  • Forward planning and hazard identification

  • Conduct routine forklift checks – pre start and pre operational checks

  • Operate a forklift truck safely and shift loads in a safe manner within the workplace

  • Shut down and secure the equipment

  • Adapt to different workplace scenarios and conditions.

Site requirements

Student are required to:

  • Operate a forklift truck in safe operating condition which complies with the required standard Forklift Truck manual.

  • Demonstrate a pre-start check and have a documented service record on hand.

  • Achieve a varied of weight at three lift heights during training and SafeWork NSW Forklift Licence Assessment.

Assessment day

Final SafeWork NSW Licence Assessment will be booked in with SafeWork NSW within 1 week after assessments are passed by a Trainer. Final assessment consists of a theory and calculation test followed by a practical performance demonstration assessment.

Course Outcomes

On successful completion of this course, students will receive a Notice of Assessment to apply for a license to Operate a Forklift Truck (TLILIC003). This application is to be lodged at Australia Post which incurs an additional cost and payable to Australia Post.

Reassessment

Applicants deemed not yet competent will be provided the opportunity to undergo further training. Applicants cannot be reassessed for a minimum of 48 hours; fees do apply for each section that requires reassessment.

 

Venue Training and assessments are conducted onsite.

Participant Entry Requirements:

  • Be over 18 years of age to complete final SafeWork NSW Assessment.

  • Complete an enrolment form including Unique Student Identifier (USI) from usi.gov.au prior to course commencement. 

  • 100 points ID which must include photo ID ie licence, passport, proof ID card (photo, signature, date of birth and current address). All documents must be original. Photocopies will not be accepted. Not meeting the requirement will result in not being able to sit the assessment.

Course Dates
We offer courses throughout the year to suit clients’ requests. Commencement will depend on participants input into training and completing their student assessment book.
